Places to explore
Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is defined by tall quartz sandstone pillars, forested slopes and deep valleys. The scenery around Yuanjiajie and Golden Whip Stream reveals the varied forms of this distinctive mountain landscape.
Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon
Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon combines steep cliffs with a dramatic view into the valley. The Yuntiandu glass bridge spans the gorge, its transparent deck offering a distinctive perspective on the depth and scale of the landscape.
Huanglong Cave
Huanglong Cave contains a layered karst landscape of underground rivers, waterfalls and spacious chambers. Its passages and watercourses reveal the forms shaped by water within the rock, adding an underground dimension to Zhangjiajie’s scenery.
Baofeng Lake
Baofeng Lake lies among the green peaks of Wulingyuan, bringing calm water and steep mountain scenery into the same view. Reflections, wooded slopes and the enclosed valley create a quieter counterpart to Zhangjiajie’s towering rock formations.
Ten-Mile Gallery
Ten-Mile Gallery follows a valley in the Suoxiyu scenic area, where unusual peaks rise along both sides. Rock formations known as the Old Man Gathering Herbs and Three Sisters Peak give the landscape its characteristic silhouettes.
Fenghuang Ancient Town
Fenghuang Ancient Town stretches along the Tuo River, with stilted houses lining the banks and Hongqiao Bridge crossing the water. Traditional buildings and evening reflections give this Xiangxi town its distinctive riverside character.
Located in Fenghuang County, Xiangxi, Hunan; part of the wider regional selection beyond Zhangjiajie.
Furong Town
Furong Town is built around a waterfall, with traditional Tujia stilted houses arranged along the cliffs. Layered buildings, flowing water and evening illumination create a distinctive setting where the town and landscape meet.
Located in Furong Town, Yongshun County, Xiangxi, Hunan; outside Zhangjiajie city.
Changsha Wuyi Square
Wuyi Square sits within Changsha’s central shopping district, surrounded by food venues, retail streets and familiar local brands. The area brings together the city’s commercial activity and food culture in a lively urban setting.
