Places to explore
Chengdu Panda Base
Chengdu Panda Base focuses on giant panda conservation, research and breeding. Giant pandas and red pandas are central to its appeal, offering an introduction to these animals and the conservation work associated with them.
Kuanzhai Alley
Kuanzhai Alley brings together Wide Alley, Narrow Alley and Well Alley with traditional courtyard buildings. Grey brick walls, teahouses, snack shops and creative stores reflect the historic streetscape and unhurried atmosphere associated with Chengdu.
Wuhou Shrine
Wuhou Shrine commemorates Zhuge Liang and Liu Bei, linking its temples and courtyards with the history of the Three Kingdoms. Red walls and bamboo-lined passages create a distinctive setting beside Jinli Ancient Street.
Dujiangyan
Dujiangyan is an ancient water management system that has irrigated the Chengdu Plain for centuries. Features such as the Fish Mouth Levee and Flying Sand Weir show how the landscape was shaped to direct and control water.
Jinli Ancient Street
Jinli Ancient Street adjoins Wuhou Shrine and draws on the culture of the Three Kingdoms. Traditional-style buildings, red lanterns, local snacks and craft stalls create a lively streetscape, especially when the evening lights appear.
Chunxi Road & Taikoo Li
Chunxi Road and Taikoo Li bring together shopping, contemporary style and an open street layout. The climbing panda sculpture at IFS is a recognisable landmark within a district that combines international brands with local trends.
